When the big things feel out of control…focus on what you love, right under your nose.
~ Charlie Mackesey
Life coaching is a popular approach to life challenges these days and as a life coach I can attest to the benefits it holds for those who apply the teachings diligently. As a horse trainer and coach I can even attest to the power of horses in assisting in that process, whether we ask for it or not. Horses are natural facilitators of personal growth, indeed, they are natural born life coaches. But that said, life coaching isn’t always what we need in a moment of crisis.

Because sometimes, we don’t want another person looking in on our life. We don’t need a horse mirroring back to us our inner chaos and agony. Sometimes, we don’t want to talk, let alone have a pep talk, or even a sympathetic ear. We aren’t ready to look for solutions or silver linings, and we are done with everyone else’s answers or perspectives, however kindly given.
Sometimes, we are simply done talking and all we really want, is to sit quietly with our pain and anguish and let it speak till we are done listening.
