In the world of training animals, like anything in the world of humans that inspires beliefs, it is easy to obsess. Obsess about ideologies, beliefs about ideologies, and beliefs about beliefs about ideologies.

One thing equestrians obsess about, is the principle of Straightness. One long gone equestrian coined it in one simple phrase that is now repeated by equestrians everywhere – ride your horse calm, forward and straight. However, straight and Straightness has little to do with the horses direction of travel; it is a physical as well as mental state of being. As it is for horses, so it is for humans.
